Here is a design for a hanging wine rack that can be created in just a couple of hours. First, measure and cut two 4-inch square blocks for parts of the wine station. Sketch a circle that is approximately 3 1/2 inches in diameter on each box. Cut the circle out into the square. Cut wood sections for the body each wine rack section. Measure and cut 9-inch lengths of 2 of 4s, and make sure to cut four equal lengths for each section of the wine station.
Fit the hanging wine rack wood sections. Apply a thin string of thong straps to the seams where 9-inch lengths touch each other. Cover glue string with easy recording. Attach the loop screws in each corner of the finished box sections. Connect the boxes with decorative chain parts. While parts of the chain, any length desired may be 3 to 4 inches a good average length.

Go the lengths of the chain on the top box to a single long chain. Depending on the individual taste, the boxes can be painted or stained before adding to the design. Make sure the chain, while decoratively, is heavy enough to carry the weight of the DIY hanging wine rack properly, as well as wine bottles.
